Commodity Watch: Zinc futures ease on reduced demand

New Delhi: Zinc prices fell 45 paise to Rs 322.80 per kg in futures trade as speculators reduced their exposure, tracking negative cues from the spot market.
Zinc contracts for March delivery slipped by 0.14 per cent in a business turnover of 1,274 lots. Analysts said the trimming of positions by participants, owing to slackened demand from consuming industries in the physical market, weighed on zinc prices.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices rose nearly 0.63 per cent to Rs 313 per kg in futures trade amid a positive trend in the spot market. Aluminium for delivery in March increased by Rs 1.95 in 24 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders.
Copper futures fall on weak trend
Copper futures fell Rs 2.05 to Rs 1,256.45 per kilogram as participants reduced their positions amid muted demand in the domestic market. Copper futures for the March contract eased by 0.16 per cent in a business turnover of 1,015 lots.
